Terra Thread was created with people and the planet at its core, with premium bags abd backpacks made using family grown Organic Cotton and fair labour practices.
Terra Thread's parent company, Gallant, was founded in sunny Southern California. Founder Vik was born and raised in Nepal and spent time in India as his brothers and father worked there. In 2009 he started Gallant with the intention to help small scale artisans as well as to establish a business for himself in the US.
All of the Gallant's products are GOTS Certified and Fair Trade. Having made bags for brands and companies around the world, Vik realized that there were not many options for affordable and sustainable backpacks that consumers could choose from.

45 day returns: If you are not satisfied with a product that you ordered online (*exceptions below), you are welcome to return it to us within 45 days, unused, unworn, and in a pristine saleable condition with the original labels attached, packaging and we will refund your cost of goods. Items marked 'Final Sale' can not be returned unless faulty. *except skin and body care, makeup, food, underwear, earrings, and custom order items, which can not be returned for change of mind.

Standard: Once the order has shipped, it will arrive in 2 to 7 days depending on your destination.
Express: only for orders up to 4kg and excludes bulky/heavy items.
Heavy/Overwight Orders: Order overs 5kg in weight will attract a $5 extra weight surcharge.
Click & Collect: choose your local store at checkout and your order to be there within 2 to 4 working days (1 working day for Milton warehouse). Please wait until you receive an email or text to advise that your goods are ready to be collect.
International: Flat rate shipping for orders up to 2kg. International orders are not subject to sales tax, so most prices are less 10% when purchased from overseas.

This is such a beautiful backpack. The quality is beautiful given the price. It feels comfortable on my back on my commute to work. I have a small laptop and tablet that I can put in there. I really like the thoughtfulness out into the side bottle pockets. I can actually fit in my 1L insulated water bottle for once.

Great backpack. Plenty of compartments & it's roomy. Wide straps for comfort. Sturdy cotton fabric & zips. Looks good in burnt orange - such a nice colour.

This is my second Terra Thread backpack. Very happy with bag size and quality. It washes well. We use it everyday as baby bag and only complaint is it has faded from washing/sun exposure so maybe worth considering this when choosing a colour :)

Sad that it is made by underpaid residents in India.

We can assure you that Terra Thread products are made using Certified Fairtrade Certified Organic Cotton. Terra Thread products are GOTS Certified and are made in a Fair Trade USA Certified Factory.Fairtrade Organic cotton ensures that farmers have access to safe working environments, gender equality, are paid a fair price for their cotton, and a Fairtrade Premium, among other benefits.
GOTS certification is a stringent voluntary global standard for the entire post-harvest process such as spinning, knitting, weaving, dyeing, and manufacturing of apparel and home textiles made with organic fiber. The standard prohibits the use of toxic chemicals during the processing stages and includes strong labor provisions as well a prohibition on child labor. The GOTS symbol means the products have met strict environmental and social criteria during processing along the entire supply chain.
The Terra Thread Fair Trade Factory Certification ensures that there factory workers have access to a safe working environment, gender equality, are paid legal and fair wages, and a Fair Trade premium, among other benefits.
