Better for the planet
High quality wooden toys made with sustainable timber, a renewable natural resource, are better for the planet than plastic toys. Be sure to check for certification of the timber to ensure it is plantation or sustainable. The WWF considers the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) to be the best certification system to ensure environmentally responsible, socially beneficial and economically viable management of forests. Plus, the educational wooden toys that we sell at Biome are safe too, with non-toxic paints used, or no paint at all.
Durable
We love how durable wooden toys are, especially considering children can be quite rough with their toys. As they are so solid and sturdy, it is hard for wooden toys to become damaged beyond a scratch and a dent. That means you don't have to worry about small pieces breaking off or batteries coming loose.
