Brand story
We are proud to support Sunbutter who have earned Palm Oil Free Certification. It’s a story of obstacles, persistence and, in the end, huge celebration.
It all began with a Kickstarter campaign; Australian Marine biologist and conservation ecologist team Sacha Guggenheimer and Tom Hiney couldn't find a sunscreen that met their high environmental and ethical standards, so they made their own. Sunbutter sunscreen became Australia's first SPF50 reef safe sunscreen. That was 2016, and they were just learning about the negative impacts of chemical sunscreen pollution on our oceans, and in particular coral reefs.
The original SunButter sunscreen was handmade for the whale shark guides, photographers, spearo's, divers and fisherman of the Ningaloo Reef. Since August 2019 they have expanded from handmade sunblock to Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration listed sunscreen. The teams' passion to grow a socially and environmentally ethical skincare company is driven by their mantra, "Protecting People & Oceans".
Now stocking a wide range of products, including Sunbutter Sunscreen, Sunbutter Tinted Suncreen, Sunbutter Surf Zinc and a variety of Sunbutter Skincare, you can be safe in the knowledge that Sunbutter is safe for our oceans, safe for your skin and safe for the planet.
