Brand story

Born on the Gold Coast, Sun & Earth founder Joel always felt a connection to the ocean.

Upon returning from a surf trip, he was struck by an idea. Sick of seeing countless amounts of sunscreen and zinc wash into the ocean, he decided to make an all natural zinc cream. In 2016, Sun & Earth Zinc cream hit local markets for the first time. The rest is history.

    Great!

I bought this for my kids and am happy with it. It glides on the skin nicely and doesn’t seem too think.

Really good and soothing on the skin

I was surprised at how well the paste spread on my skin. Some may find the texture too thick on the skin but I'm used to similar zinc based creams and don't have a huge issue with it. Ideally I would prefer it to be less thick and the thickness is the only reason I didn't give this 5 stars, However I'm yet to find a totally perfect sunscreen for me! I have sensitive skin and eyes so most sunscreens are really unpleasant for me. I found this one to feel really nourishing and soothing on my skin and my eyes had no issue with it. I'm really impressed with the simple and natural ingredients and absence of plastic. I would definitely recommend it for those who don't mind a thicker cream.

Not light enough to convert me to zinc sunscreen

I've never used zinc sunscreen because I find it too thick/sticky. It's great this sunscreen comes in a tin rather than plastic but I found this sunscreen too heavy for me.

    Would not purchase again.

As much as I like the concept - it is very thick, hard to apply and leaves my face annoyingly sticky. Even applying a powder over the top didn't help and the scent is unpleasant to me. For doing it's job it's okay, but in my opinion, it's not worth the money for the trouble.
