I love Klean Kanteen, my only complaint has been that my 6yr old insulated cup cannot go in the dishwasher.
Not anymore. This one is insulated and is dish washer safe. I use it as my coffee cup and my water bottle when I'm out of the house.
I don't think I'm being too dramatic when I say has changed my life and is my new best friend.

not the easiest to clean, but I really like the twist open design and overall quality. I watched several youtube videos before purchasing and did not encounter the problems that were shown in those videos.

I really like this bottle in theory. It’s fairly easy to use, generally leak proof, and I like that it’s insulated. I was enjoying it, until the straw started going mouldy. If it is not cleaned extremely regularly, it easily moulds in the little section that the straw folds down into since it is pretty much always damp in there and closed shut most of the time. The mould can be cleaned fairly simply from that section, but unfortunately there are mould deposits on the silicone straw tip that I cannot get rid of…which makes it unusable, unless you want to suck on a mouldy straw. I came online, thinking it would be easy enough to just buy a replacement silicone straw part, since you can pull that part out and put it back again, but they don’t sell them anywhere. You can only buy a whole new lid from the Klean Kanteen website (not from Biome, currently), and it is $24.95 and currently sold out in both colour ways. This seems like quite a waste for a company that promotes sustainability. It would be such a waste to throw away the whole lid and get a whole new one, just because the silicone part needs replacing. I intend to email them about it and hope that they will offer just the silicone straw tip replacements (for a reasonable price) in the future. Especially considering how easy it is for children to chew on this part of the bottle and wreck it before the rest of the lid is ready to be retired (and of course the mould issue).
