Vegan Deodorant - Bi Carb Free with Pink Clay
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons Candelilla Wax
- 2 tablespoons Shea Butter
- 2 tablespoons Cocoa Butter
- 2 tablespoons Coconut Oil
- 1 teaspoon Magnesium Chloride Flakes
- 1 teaspoon boiling water
- 1 tablespoon Arrowroot Powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Pink Clay
- 1 tablespoon White Clay
- 50 drops pure essential oils of choice (optional) – here we used a blend of Rose Geranium, Ylang Ylang, and Patchouli.
Method
- Place a large mason jar or glass jug into a saucepan, with approximately 6cm water in the pan. Into the mason jar or glass jug, add the candelilla wax, shea butter, cocoa butter and coconut oil. Turn the heat to medium and stir constantly until melted.
- Remove the mason jar or glass jug from the saucepan. Add the clays and arrowroot powder and stir until well combined.
- In another small glass jar, combine the boiling water and the magnesium flakes and stir to dissolve completely. Pour this into the mason jar or jug with the melted deodorant mixture, stirring continuously. The salts and clay should be completely dissolved.
- If using essential oils, add them to the mix and stir.
- Let the mixture cool for a minute before pouring into your container.
- Allow the deodorant to set.
How To Use
Deodorant stick – apply as normal. Glass container – apply a thin layer with your clean fingers and rub in until it's invisible. Store out of direct sunlight. Use within 12 months. This recipe makes enough to fill 2 x 120ml glass jars or 3 x 90ml empty deodorant stick containers.
