DIY Everything Balm
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp apricot kernel oil
- 2 tbsp calendula petals
- 3 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 tbsp cocoa butter
- 1 tbsp shea butter
- 1 tbsp beeswax beads (or 1 tsp of candelilla wax for a vegan version)
- 10 drops lavender essential oil
- 10 drops frankincense essential oil
Method
- Place the apricot kernel oil into a small glass mason jar and add the calendula petals. Ensue the petals are fully submerged. Put a lid on the jar, shake and leave to infuse overnight. The next day, strain well. You should be left with a pretty yellow coloured oil. Leave aside.
- Place another glass jar in a saucepan with about 6cm of water in it. To the jar, add the coconut oil, beeswax beads, cocoa and shea butter. Turn heat to medium and stir until melted.
- Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the calendula infused apricot kernel oil, lavender and frankincense essential oils.
- Carefully pour into your chosen containers. We have used this tin. Allow to cool completely before closing the lid or sealing.
