Home compostable plastic bin liners 30 litre (25 bags). World's first certified compostable plastic bags. Suitable for standard household, kitchen tidy bins. Certified home compostable bin bags made from a bio-plastic that is a mix of plant starch and fossil fuel derived ingredients.

The world's first certified, fully home compostable plastic bags.

Roll of 25 bags.

Suitable for commercial and domestic use.

Other 'degradable' plastic bags on the market are polyethelene bags with a percentage of plant starch or additives. Degradable bags break down into pieces of plastic debris that do not compost.

To avoid misleading claims and be sure that the bags you purchase will actually compost rapidly and safely, look for independent certification. Our bags are fully certified to Australian Standard AS 4736, European Standard EN 13432 and the US Standard ASTM D6400 to be 100% home compostable. They contain no polyethylene.

Interesting info about these bags:

  • Breaks down in a reasonable amount of time, leaves behind no toxic residue, and safely becomes an additive to soil — compared with 50 or more years for normal plastic bags to break down into smaller pieces;
  • A better choice for rubbish, because normal plastic bags slow the natural process of the rubbish biodegrading;
  • The bags 'breathe', reducing the weight of the by-product up to 25% in 5 days. Ideal for collecting food waste for composting as they reduce smells, stop mould growth and the waste dries out making it easier to compost or worm.
  • Certified by the Australasian Bioplastics Association, AIB Vincotte (OK Compost), DIN Certco & BPI (USA)

Please remember, these bags still need to be responsibly disposed off in your rubbish.

Made of a material called Mater-Bi, which consists of corn starch, biodegradable and compostable polyester and vegetable oil.

Mater-Bi is a bioplastic made from PBAT (polybutylene adipate terephthalate derived from coal), plant starch and additives.

60 x 51cm

Store in a cool, dry, dark place.

100% compostable in your home compost, worm farm or garden.

Australia

BioBag is an environmentally sustainable alternative to regular, polyethylene plastic bags that are certified compostable and certified biodegradable and will break down anywhere oxygen and microorganisms exist.

    These are strong and home compostable. So much better than the regular plastic ones.

    BioBags

    I use those bags now for a while and I really love them, and if you want to see them degrade just at something wet / or water to the bin and you'll be able to see them slowly degrade (the way they should). I highly recommend them to everyone who loves to do their part in protecting the our world and future.

    Great kitchen bags

    These bags are great for kitchen bins. Have used for quite awhile. However we prefer the Biotuff bags as they are a little bit thicker.

    30 LTR bin liners

    I go out of my way to buy these from you as I'm very conscious of the damage plastics are doing to our environment. You're expensive considering what they are used for, but so far you're the supplier of choice. I understand "Great Wrap" are possibly going to be developing alternatives from potato waste which will be 100% degradable but will they be as strong? I guess we'll see.
